Rachael & Andy ~ An Essex Wedding with a “Mare”-of-Honour
From the moment I met with Rachael to have a chat about her wedding plans, I knew this would definitely be one to remember! I’ve had horses at weddings before, but never had a Bride want to RIDE her horse down the aisle to her waiting Groom! I was so excited to see what else she had in store for her wedding and couldn’t wait to hear more! Every month or so we would have an informal catch up and chat all things horsey and wedding related. Even on the build up, Rachael couldn’t contain her excitement when she revealed she had bought Pepper (her horse) a new rug for the wedding which matched perfectly with the flowers and Bridesmaids dresses. She really was a ‘Mare-of-Honour’!
Being from South Africa originally, it was really important for Rachael to include some of her families routes in her wedding. She went to a great deal if trouble to find the SA flower ‘Bird of Paradise’ which was put together wonderfully by The Flower Hall along with some super cool pumpkins for the table decor being that is was the month of October! Rachael had her hair styled by a lovely family friend from Studio 63 and her gorgeous gown from Adore Brides completed her wedding day look!
Sadly being such a taboo subject of the UK – our famous weather, Rachael & Andy had to make the call and quickly change plans to have an indoor wedding as the rain came down 🙁meaning her dreams of riding her horse down the aisle were to be no more. However due to the nature of her arrival Ye Olde Plough House managed to pull one out the bag for Rachael and helped her ride her horse across the car park for all the guests to watch from the window of the ceremony room as she arrived in pure one-off style! 😁
The rest of the day breezed by, and Rachael & Andy celebrated with some couple portraits (including their Mare-of-Honour) and some fabulous speeches aswell as a sing-song with Rachaels Dad and Aunty, and a surprise gift of a Guitar for her new Hubby! 😍
The surprises weren’t over yet, and with the evening rocking round pretty quick Rachael & Andy suddenly realised their DJ hadn’t turned up for the evening…. NA just kidding guys! This duo and the rest of Andy’s band started off the party by playing and singing together to get everyone on the dancefloor! No one had any idea and was so impressed with the couple and their musical talents! From here on out, we had to depart from the wedding, but I can definitely tell this party went on well into the early hours!
As well as all the amazing suppliers involved who helped created Rachael & Andy’s dream wedding day, I couldn’t have done it all without my lovely second shooter on hand Carla Teale!
A HUGE Congratulations to this lovely pair, you guys really do deserve all the happiness and love together <3
