Rachael & Andy ~ An Equestrian Pre Wedding Shoot

The other month I met up with Rachael & Andy ahead of their wedding for their engagement shoot, and who else should be coming along for their photos than their adopted daughter Pepper <3 Anyone who knows Rachael know she absolutely dotes on Pepper and it wouldn’t be right without her there with these guys too <3

Hannah & Dudley ~ Essex Equestrian Photographer

Hannah & Dudley’s Equestrian Photo Session was on one of the hottest days I think I’ve ever shot on, and that was at 6pm in the evening too! I remember feeling really excited as I drove down the road thinking I knew exactly where I was headed, however my satnav speared off and actually took me to a different location than I first thought… I love surprises so driving down this narrow peaceful road I knew I was in for a treat!

When I pulled up outside Hannah’s front drive, my mind was racing with soooo many ideas for this gorgeous location. It really is the most fabulous home and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in!

Out the back past the garden, Hannah’s parents’ home stretches on to include a nature reservoir and plenty of lushes fields and woodland trees, we had so many photo opportunities!

Walking down to greet everyone, it was all so chilled and relaxed outside the stables as the gleaming Dudley stood tied up ready to make his debut in front of the camera.

They picked a fabulously sunny early evening so I spent a lot of time re-arranging Hannah & Dudley in the best possible light (something Dudley wasn’t overly keen on as he was more interested in looking over his shoulder in the other direction)… {face palm} however with some gentle guidance and some food for thought he behaved impeccably and did everything asked of him after a little gesture of a polo or snack of grass here and there.

I had a fab time exploring the beautiful grounds and capturing this duo together <3 here’s a few sneaks from their Equestrian Photo Shoot.

Raine & Poncz ~ Essex Equestrian Photographer

Check out these lovelies! Raine and her top jumping man Poncz were pros in front of my camera the other week! It may have been a tad overcast instead of the bright sun we’ve had just recently but that weather is just perfect and I love the results I get with my camera when it’s like this!

We played with rolling hills, barley fields, greenery and yellow buttercups! <3

At the end we even scooped Raine’s mare Prancer out from her stable as she is near to drop a foal (can you tell?) and then Raine’s very first pony Panther who was chilling quietly with his hay came out for a few shots too! 😍

Karis & Hat ~ Essex Equestrian Photographer

A gift voucher for Christmas meant we could get Karis & her horse Hat booked in the diary to capture them looking their best! Karis’ yard is surrounded by amazing fields, scenery and beautiful backdrops, and is so peaceful and enchanting with an abundance of areas for us to choose from!

We may not have had golden hour on our shoot (and not everyone knows this) but it’s actually every photographers dream to shoot on a slightly overcast day as we don’t have to worry about where the sun is and work hard against harsh shadows. It was a perfect day to photograph on!  ✨

Hat was amazing and didn’t put a foot wrong! He took everything in his stride and looked like he was enjoying his time in front of the camera. Scroll down for some sneak peeks from this gorgeous shoot <3

Louisa & Jasper ~ Essex Equestrian Photography

I’ve been to visit Louisa & Jasper twice already, so was really looking forward to coming back and seeing the pair again on their beautiful yard out in the middle of nowhere…pure peaceful bliss! The marshes are such a quiet, tranquil area to be based and provide such beautiful backdrops which was perfect for our shoot.

Without knowing it until I arrived, Louisa had also brought along her wedding dress so after a few shots in some smart yard clothing we had a change up and got into the beautiful dress Louisa had walked down the aisle in just last year! With the gorgeous early evening golden hour, a beautiful white gelding and a gorgeous wedding dress we headed out and created some magic in and amongst the fields and greenery which surround the yard ✨

Jasper being the gentleman he is behaved impeccably throughout the whole shoot and did everything asked of him, he even got to kick up his heels and have a good old run around at the end to let off some steam! My thanks to Louisa for having me back again, he really is a horse in a million <3

Jenna & Mia and their Horses ~ Essex Equestrian Photography

I got to meet these four on their family farm near Frinton-On-Sea recently and what a treat it was! We had gleaming horses & ponies and dogs, on a beautiful early evening sunset.

Jenna & Mia had both decided to wear their gorgeous wedding dresses one last time, before having them cleaned and donated for charity, and what better way to make the most of dressing up as Princesses again than to do it with your sister and horse! Both ladies looked stunning and with an entourage of helpers we got some beautiful shots of them together, with Jenna even braving it to sit on Quinn for a few shots!

Take a peek below at their Equestrian Photo Session <3

Dan & Pippa ~ Essex Canine Photography

Dan received a Canine Gift voucher for his birthday so he could treasure some snaps of his little lady Pippa who he’s owned since a young pup. Upon arrival I had the most excitable little pup with the biggest personality and fastest tail run up to greet me and say hello 😍 I knew we were going to have some fun!!

At Georgie’s family farm they have a beautiful area which comes alive with bluebells every year in the Spring time; it literally covers the woodland floor looking like a carpet of purple in its natural beauty.  We walked down to the woods, and within 10 seconds of the lead being unclipped, Pippa was gone! Oh she did come back, but covered in mud under her little belly and looking rather pleased with herself at making the return as she naturally plonked herself next to Dan without even looking up.

After another 5-10 times of Pippa making a disappearing act as our photo session went on, I soon learnt not to panic but just go with it. Within 30 seconds she would always return with the biggest grin on her face; this little lady was just nosey and loved to run and run!!

To cool off on the way back, she made a beeline for the water trough in the horses field and totally immersed herself without batting an eyelid. I was in hysterics, she was just so so funny! This is why I have a soft spot for Springers, they have the biggest personalities and are forever smiling!!! What a lovely lively little lady she is. Check out some of my favourites from our photo session.

Animate Physiotherapy with Charlie – Commercial Photography Essex

Alongside photographing beautiful animals and gorgeous couples I also shoot some commercial Photography to help businesses in need of creating or updating their branding and advertising to the world. This might mean they need new head shots, images for their website or leaflets, or if they’ve bought a new piece of kit that they need to include in their advertising…anything and everything that helps another business on their way to success!

I’ve photographed Charlie before with her lovely horse Kaiser and last year I got to catch up with her again as we photographed her Mother Lesley with her two horses, but this time we got together to capture some images for her new business Animate Physiotherapy, focusing primarily on horses & dogs!

Laura Jane Photography

Over the last few years Charlie has used this time and worked hard to get qualified and set up & run her very own Physiotherapy business for horse & dog owners.  Today, Animate Physiotherapy has become very successful and popular with clients based up and down the county as Charlie continues to help their animals optimise their performance, target specific performance issues, provide pain relief for chronic conditions and promote positive outcomes following injury as well as much much more!

To ensure that she was getting the most out of her business, and to shed some insight into what she does when working on her clients animals, Charlie and I had a commercial photo session to update her online marketing images in order to boost her business brand and get a good start to the 2018 season with new clients!

If you head over to Charlie’s Facebook Page and click Like you can keep up to date with all her upcoming work, and also be the first to get involved with any competitions and helpful tips she shares to maximise the best for your furry friends.  Recently she ran a successful Easter giveaway and I’m sure there will be more in the future too, so go check her out!!

Jo & Rosco ~ Essex Equestrian Photography

As I like to help out where I can, some of you may remember that devastating fire that swept through a stable block at Elmwood Farm in Burnham, killing a dozen horses right before the festive season of 2017. Many people and organisations rushed to their aid and not only helped with clearing the rubble and rebuilding the horses & riders lives, but also by holding charity nights and donations to help raise money for those who had lost horses, and other stable items during this tragic time.

I donated a voucher for an hour long photo session, of which the lovely Jo bid on and won! Whilst it doesn’t replace what was lost in such devastating circumstances, I hope the money raised from my donation helped someone, somewhere, somehow with the tragedy of that awful nights events.

There was another reason for Jo booking in during the cold month of February!! It’s been pretty difficult to keep secrets like this quiet, but scroll on down to the very last photo and discover Ollie & Jo’s AMAZING news!!

Congratulations guys! Here’s to your healthy, happy Bubba! <3

7 Reasons why a Pre-wedding shoot is totally worth it!

Included with some of my Wedding packages is the opportunity for a complimentary pre wedding shoot, also known as an Engagement shoot. Now some couples turn to me and say… “hmm we don’t really like having our photo taken so can we do without” and of course this is an option  (as I say it’s complimentary in my packages) however I will always strongly recommend having a pre-wedding shoot as I believe it is not only beneficial to you…but also to me ✨ and here’s why ladies and gents…

1. You know that feeling when you have just met someone, you’re not entirely comfortable around them and you want to know more about them before you feel completely at ease? Well what a good chance to spend an hour in my company getting to know just me! I want my couples to feel totally relaxed and able to ask me anything. I want to be more than just your photographer for your wedding day…I want to be your friend! I have been described as a goofy gal with a heart of gold and I will do anything to ensure that my couples have the best wedding day ever, but in order to help you feel happy and at ease with the camera, and in order to create those amazing smiles…laughs…snorts that we hold in when we’re around company we’re not totally comfortable with; come along and get to know me on a ‘free’ engagement shoot! I promise it’ll be well worth your time! 🤗

2. You want to update those photos on the walls? The ones that are ten years old when you guys had just met, or that portrait session you had done in those outdated clothes. What a great opportunity to freshen up your photo frames and have some professional up-to-date photos to go on the walls and send out to your Mum for her Birthday 😉 she’ll totally love it, you know she will!

3. You’ve got a new member of the family who joined you recently…two legged or four I’m happy to shoot you as a family instead of as a couple! If you didn’t already know by now I’m a HUGE furry fan and love my snuggles and slobbery kisses 🐾🐴  As well as Weddings I also specialise in Equestrian & Canine Photography and would love it if you brought out more members of the family on your Engagement shoot! We can have tons of fun, and even make time for some shots of the two of you as well as the three…four…five of you as well!

4. Use your photos as decor at your wedding. It’s such a cool idea and I’ve had a few B&G’s who have done this! It’s so lovely for me to know you want to show off your photos to your nearest and dearest and makes me so proud! 😀

5. Use a different time of year to when your Wedding is so you can have photos at both ends of the year. Another recommendation of mine; if you have a Winter wedding coming up then opt for a Summer Engagement Session! Get the best of both!

6. Those all important ‘thank you’ cards after the wedding are right at the back of your mind at the moment, so why not eliminate the worry of getting them done after the wedding and have them prepared beforehand? I always suggest to my couples to bring along a ‘thank you’ bunting or a blackboard to write some fun notes down on (dates, Mr & Mrs, fun facts about you two etc) it always makes for extra fun and I love hearing more about the two of you!

7. You’re totally in LOVE and want to show it off to the world 💕 Yes Yes Yes!! There is nothing more fascinating, fun and beautiful than couples so madly, deeply, head-over-heels in love with one another. Let’s do this!
